Jake graduated from law school! To commemorate this momentous day, we become insta official- WOW big day! After being coworkers for several years, we confirmed all the rumors that we were in fact together. Shout out to our Whetstone, Perkins, Fulda family for being there for us during those early years :)

The Gamecocks beat Eastern Illinois at home- marking our inaugural tailgate as season ticket holders! This is by far our biggest shared passion since it combines all our favorite things: football, the Gamecocks, hosting, friends, and drinking. Over the years we have slowly upgraded our tailgate to include two parking spots, a TV, generator, painted table, food heaters and all the Gamecock paraphernalia you could imagine.

For our first big relationship test Emily brought Jake on her family vacation to Aruba. After surviving the McDowell clan for a week, we knew our relationship could go the distance!

Jake joins Emily for her annual July trek north and learns how to properly eat lobster. This was a very important step towards being accepted by the Boston crew for Jake, and he passed with flying colors! We love our frequent trips to Boston to visit Emily's friends and family.

Over the years we have traveled for, attended, and been in dozens of weddings. We like to say we are wedding attendee experts. We are so excited for our turn and to see all our favorite people in one place!

In the summer of 2023, we had our next big relationship step- moving in together! After much debate, we found the perfect places for Jake's deer head and Emily's book collection. One thing we can always agree on, friendly competition on the golf course. Golf has become one of our favorite things to do together which we are lucky to be able to enjoy year-round.

In merging our lives together, we have learned much about each other's culture and upbringing. Since living in the South, Emily has learned to love pimento cheese, banana pudding and letting Jake hunt to his hearts content. Since dating a Yankee, Jake has learned to love lobster, snow, and all the New England sports teams!

We got engaged!! Jake popped the question on the horseshoe at USC's campus. Both being graduates of USC, we cheer on the Gamecocks whenever we can.

To round out such a great year, we celebrated the holidays together for the first time. Thanksgiving in Boston and Christmas in South Carolina. Both our families were incredibly welcoming to the other and made sure to incorporate our own family traditions in each holiday!

To kick off 2025, we bought a house in Columbia, SC! As a compromise it looks just like Emily's childhood home on Dairy Lane. We could not be more excited to make this house our home.

Over the years Charleston has easily become our favorite place to visit. Whether it be to visit family and friends or go to the beach. There is always so much to do and see. We are so excited to be sharing our love for Charleston with you all!
